Gold hunting cased quarter repeater by Girard Perregaux

A Swiss 18 carat gold two train hunting cased quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch with dead independent seconds, circa 1850-1860. Gilt finished two train jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two hammers on to two gongs, quarter repeat activated through a slide in the band. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer calibrated seconds ring with Arabic fifth seconds. Engine turned case, coin edged band, hinged back. Cuvette and dial signed, case and cuvette numbered.
