A French gilt bronze keywound oignon verge watch with mock pendulum, circa 1700-1720. Brass full plate verge movement, chain fusée, three armed balance, engraved balance cock with aperture for mock pendulum, rack and pinion regulator, Egyptian pillars. White enamel dial, raised cartouches with Roman numerals, inner quarter hours, outer minute track with Arabic five minute divisions and fleur-de-lys hand. Oversized chased case with bacchanal scene in a draped interior with putti and scroll motif to the outer rim, scroll and leaf motif to the bezel. Movement signed.
