A fine Swiss gilt brass special keyless lever chronometer, circa 1880. Retailed by Bailey, Banks and Biddle, Philadelphia. Special nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, swan neck regulator, wolf’s tooth winding. Silvered matte dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, blued steel Breguet hands, all set within a brass housing with glazed see through back, screwed down brass bell back, all housed brass gimbels in a three tier wood and glass box. Dial and movement signed by watchmaker, movement signed by retailer, movement numbered. Comes with  wooden presentation box.
