Open faced quarter repeating verge by Esquivillon & Dechoudens

A French silver open faced quarter repeating keywound verge watch with Jacquemarts, circa 1800. Keywound verge movement, chain fusée. Gilt cuvette. Gilt dial with Breguet numerals on white enamel cartouches, white enamel minute ring, surrounded by a vari-coloured gilt scene depicting two turbaned moors striking bells in unison with the repeating, against a gilt background with a palm tree and lions in relief. Silvered engine turned case, repeating through the pendant, locking lever in the band. Cuvette and movement signed, case stamped DD and numbered, pendant stamped with a scorpion and two crabs and numbered.
