A splendid Swiss 18 carat yellow gold minute repeating hunting cased keyless pocket watch, circa 1889. A solid, polished case, the entire case finely engraved in a floral and leaf pattern. The front cover with a flying tiger and case back with a bird. Hinged gold cuvette with engine turned rim, a sun and engraved: William Schoechlin, Bienne, Medalla de Oro, Esposicion de Paris, 1889. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five minute Arabic markers, sunk subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 23 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Case and movement signed.
