A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating keyless lever chronograph watch with split seconds, circa 1901. Retailed by W.W. Wattles, Pittsburgh, PA. Nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, repeating on two polished steel hammers on two gongs. Gold cuvette with engraved inscriptions: Made for W.W. Wattles & Sons, Pittsburgh, PA by Patek Philippe & Co., Geneva and William Larimer Jones, Pittsburgh 1903. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, gold Louis XV hands, subsidiary seconds and outer red Arabic five minute divisions. Plain case with engraved initials WLJ on the back, repeating and chronograph locking slide in the band, split seconds chronograph buttons in the band and in the crown. Case, dial and movement signed by maker, cuvette signed by maker and retailer.
