Gold watch with enamel lady’s portrait

An elegant Swiss 18 carat yellow gold, enamel and paste stone set open faced quarter repeating Louis XV pocket watch made by Les Frères Esquivillon, Geneva, circa 1775. Quarter repeater on a bell activated by depressing the pendant. The case back, with in the center, a polychrome enamel miniature painting showing a lady of note, in bust, holding a delicate little dog. White enamel dial with radial Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals and blued steel Breguet hands. A gilded brass full plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance (probably gilded brass) and blued steel flat hairspring, pierced and engraved gilded continental cock. The repeater works on the main plate, under the dial. The dial and movement are signed.
