Silver deck watch with Pouzait-type escapement by Breguet

A technical rare and early French silver open faced lever deck watch with jumping centre seconds, movement circa 1810, later silver single case, circa 1850. Gilded full plate movement, signed Breguet à Paris, featuring a rare Pouzait type lever escapement, a large seconds beating balance, and a 46 mm balance wheel completing one rotation per second. White enamel dial, signed Breguet à Paris, showcasing two subsidiary dials for date and time, with an outer seconds track and a slim blued steel dead centre seconds hand. Later plain silver case with milled bezels and band. The inside of the case back is stamped CHG within a lozenge shaped cartouche beneath a pellet and a case back numbered 18361.

The movement is running. The dial shows a small hairline crack at 6 o’clock and chipping around the winding hole. The case is tarnished and dirty, with minor marks and abrasions, though the milling remains clear.
