A magnificent, large gold and enamel Lépine pocket watch made by Delachaux & Robert, circa 1780. The open faced case of this pocket watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, both bezels, the pendant and bow are decorated with fine paillonné enamel and the back shows a fine polychrome enamel scene on a translucent blue enamel background. The white enamel dial has Arabic hours, outer minute divisions with Arabic fifteen minute numerals and gold hands. The numbered movement has a verge escapement.
The dial and movement are signed.
