Heavy chronometer with interesting movement

A heavy pocket chronometer with very interesting movement and special winding, made in England circa 1875. The full hunter case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and is marked with the case maker’s punch mark JM (for John Martin on 48 Wynyatt Street, Northampton Square, London) and London Hallmarks from 1875.
The screwed white enamel dial features an outer track with minutes division, Roman hour numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The very interesting chronometer movement with special winding is fitted with a pivoted detent escapement.
