A heavy gold full hunter cased watch with chronometer escapement, made by E. Dent & Co in London, England, circa 1875. The numbered full hunter case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, is engine turned on both lids, has London hallmarks 1875 and a cuvette marked Chronometer. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The movement features an exquisite pivoted detent chronometer escapement, a special spherical hairspring, a gold wheel, a chain, a fusee and screwed gold chatons.
The dial is signed.
