A heavy, English gold hunting cased pocket watch with chronometer escapement, circa 1875. Exquisite pivoted detent chronometer movement, special spherical hairspring, gold wheel, screwed gold chatons, chain/fusee. Signed enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and gold spade hands (craquelling under the second’s scale). 18K gold, à-goutte, engine turned case, London Hallmarks 1875, and dome inscribed chronometer. Rare chronometer quality, extremely rare hairspring, and probably original key.
