A numbered verge watch with solid gold dial, made by De La Cour in Chatham, England, circa 1820. The open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 Carat red gold, has engine turned decoration on the back, a coin edge and an exceptionally beautiful design of pendant and bracket. The beautiful and very high quality gold dial has raised Roman hour numerals and rare, red gold snake hands. The movement has a fine verge escapement with a diamond end stone and steel balance.
The movement is numbered and signed.
