An English 18 carat gold open faced lever pocket watch with carrousel, Hallmarked Chester 1901. Gilt 3/4 plate keyless movement with going barrel, gilt 52½ minute revolving spotted carriage, engraved gilt cock with garnet endstone, compensation balance with quarter timing nuts, free-sprung blue steel overcoil hairspring, English lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, and blue steel hands. Plain case, maker’s mark W.S. in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement.
