A Gold and enamelled pair case pocket watch, movement with verge escapement by James Upjohn & Co. circa 1778.  The pair case enamelled with a scene en grisaille after ‘the origin of painting’, painted by David Allan in 1775, casemaker’s mark ‘IW’, London hallmarks for 1778-1779. A pierced and engraved balance cock, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic outer.
