A very fine, important English 18 carat gold and enamel pair cased hour repeating pocket watch with half hour self strike made for the Ottoman market, circa 1820. Gilt, fosted full plate movement, keywind, blued screws, 1 hammer, bell, 2 barrels, steel cylinder wheel, three armed brass balance, blued balance spring, fine florally engraved balance cock. Enamel dial with radial Ottoman numerals, gold poker and beetle hands. Outer case with waved rim, pierced, florally engraved, polychrome opaque and translucent enamelled, lavishly opaque enamel plaque with an alpine lake view, framed by a half pearl set ribbon, five piece lateral hinge. Inner case lavishly florally hand engraved and pierced, bell, protective cap.
