Gold half pearl set watch with duplex escapement

An important, half pearl set gold enamel pocket watch of museum quality with duplex pin wheel escapement for the Chinese market with original leather presentation box with floral punches, pedestal, circa 1840. 18 Carat gold case, round, back cover lavishly engine turned and with translucent cobalt blue enamelling. Central pearl set flower with border of diamond set leaves and intermediate pearls, pearl border. Back and front outer borders, pendant and bow are set with half pearls. Dial is enamel, radial Roman numerals, center seconds, arrow shaped gold hands. Bridge movement, lavishly florally engraved, frosted, gilt, key wind, blued screws, lavishly florally engraved going barrel, duplex pin wheel escapement, five arm steel balance and engraved regulator scale.
