Silver quarter repeater by Les Frères Esquivillon & Dechoudens

An extremely rare Swiss silver and pearl set open faced skeletonized quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacquemarts and additional hidden erotic automaton, circa 1810. Verge escapement. Skeletonized dial with Jacquemarts and hidden erotic figured automaton, small white enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals and gilt hands. Case set with pearls to both sides, engraved scene of a mountain and lake to the back, automaton released by switch lever beside the hinge. Cuvette signed and numbered, movement numbered.

Esquivillon & Dechoudens were active in Geneva and Paris between 1765 and 1830. The Geneva watchmaker Jacques Dechoudens (1728-1801) founded a workshop with brothers Joseph Esquivillon (1714-1798), Jean François Esquivillon (1) (1733-1813) and Gédéon-François Esquivillon (1717-1799), who produced high quality verge pocket watches. The company was specialized in automatic figures and music watches.
