A decorative English pair cased half quarter repeating Repoussé pocket watch, circa 1780.
Two cases: gold repoussé outer case with a mythological scene and large lateral hinge; gold inner case with the edges pierced and decorated with engraved flowers, birds and mascarons; engine turned silver movement protection cap, pusher for repetition via pendant and bell. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, Arabic minutes and Louis XVI hands. Firegilt and very finely florally engraved full plate movement, with keywind, applied floral decorations, chain/fusee, baluster-shaped movement pillars, 2 hammers, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance and pierced balance cock.
