A heavy á toc half quarter repeating pair cased precision pocket watch with spring detent escapement according to Earnshaw, circa 1815.
18 Carat pink gold case, polished, tiered, á goutte, case maker punch mark WW. Enamel dial, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, signed, numbered, blued steel Poker & Beetle hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, signed, chain/fusee, with Harrison’s maintaining power, moulded pillars, spring detent escapement, Pennington’s auxiliary compensation balance, free-sprung helical blued balance spring, fine engraved balance cock, set diamond endstone on balance, chatoned sapphire endstone on chronometer wheel.

Paul Philip Barraud Barraud was famous for his chronometers; he became a Fellow of the Clockmakers’ Company(17-1813) and a Master (1810-1811). In 1838 he started a partnership with John Richard Lund, who took over the company after Barraud’s death.
