English 20K gold repeater with repoussé decoration Circa 1750

Gold pair cased verge pocket watch

A fine and rare English 20K gold half-quarter repeating repoussé pair-cased pocket watch, circa 1750. Outer case: repoussé, decorated with a scene of two huntsmen resting with their dog, a bearer carrying the day’s bag, sunray background, within a rococo cartouche, pierced border decorated with scrolls, bezel decorated to match. Inner case: stamped with master mark IAG, polished, the band pierced and engraved with flowers and scrolls and a mask. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost five-minute Arabic numerals and gilt pierced hands. A frosted gilt full-plate movement with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with fl t balance spring, pierced and engraved single-footed cock, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Movement signed.
