A repoussé verge watch of exquisite quality, made by John Ellicott in London, England, circa 1781. This open faced and pair cased watch was crafted from silver and has an outer repoussé case with an elaborate scene and a plain inner case with London Hallmarks from 1781. The champlevé dial has Arabic five minute numerals, Roman hour numerals and very beautiful iron hands. The movement has a very fine verge escapement, a diamond end stone and very exceptional pillars in the shape of a harp.
Dial and movement are signed.
