A rare English 18 carat rose gold hunting cased pocket chronometer made for the American market, circa 1860. Swiss ¾ plate movement, key wind, a pivoted detent escapement and screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade & whip hands. The engine-turned case with engraved decoration, a vacant cartouche on the front and maker’s mark HED. Movement signed, case numbered.
