Pocket watch with early temperature compensation

A heavy silver pocket watch made by Robert Roskell in Liverpool, England, circa 1800. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from solid silver, has the original dust cover, is engine turned on the back lid with an empty cartouche in the center and has English Hallmarks 1869. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary dial at six o’clock with Arabic numerals and gold and blued steel hands. Based on Litherland’s patent, the numbered movement has a key winder, early temperature compensation, Liverpool windows and a calculation anker escapement.
The movement is signed.
