Silver, enamel and tortoiseshell verge watch by Nicholas Walter

A beautiful English triple-cased verge pocket watch, estimated to be from around 1740.
The watch has a fire gilt verge movement. It features an enamel dial with Roman radial hours, an arcaded minute ring with Arabic five-minute numerals, a polychrome enamel painting in the centre, and gilt steel hands. The watch is housed in three cases: a silver and tortoiseshell decorated case, a repoussé and engraved case with a polychrome enamel painted portrait in the centre, and a plain silver case.
