An English extravagant and large silver triple-cased verge pocket watch with hidden erotic enamel scene and date, circa 1740.
Tortoiseshell covered protective case with pin decoration, the second case with floral relief and erotic polychrome enamel painting on the back The soldier and the nun, smooth third case, case maker’s punch TC. Silver champlevé dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, the centre blued and decorated, aperture for date indication and blued steel poker & beetle hands. Fire-gilt verge movement. Dial and movement signed.
