A pocket verge watch rarity for the Ottoman market with hidden erotic scene, made by George Prior in London, England, circa 1790. This watch features a numbered, smooth case and a face with a decentral enamel time display bearing Ottoman numerals and steel hands, It is decorated with two silver plaques depicting putti and the upper section contains a hinged cover with a spring loaded opening mechanism, operated by a small slide on the case edge. Beneath the cover is a finely executed enamel painting depicting an erotic scene. The movement is equipped with a verge escapement.
