Precision pocket watch with quarter hour repeater

An early technically interesting numbered precision watch with repetition, made by Samuel Archer in London, England, circa 1812. The open faced, coin edged plain case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and has London hallmarks from 1812. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The numbered movement has a duplex precision escapement with temperature compensation, a diamond end stone and a quarter hour repeater.
The movement is signed.
