An English gilt metal and under-painted horn pair cased pocket watch with observatory dial by Thomas Delasalle, London, circa 1800. Gilt full plate fusee verge, pierced and engraved balance cock, baluster pillars, silver regulation. White dial, subsidiary dial at 12 set with black Roman numerals and outer dot minute markers, black outer 1/5 second divisions, gilt hands. Under painted horn outer case with vignette of a woman resting on an anker before the sea, polished gilt metal inner case. Case stamped ‘LI’.
