Gold double-dialled watch made for the Indian market

A very fine and rare 18K gold Swiss, astronomical, keyless double-dialled world time pocket watch, circa 1890. With triple date, moon phases and a lunar calendar. Made for the Indian market. A massive bassine polished with a glazed back. White enamel dial on the front made for Greenwich Time with radial Roman numerals, subsidiary dials for the days of the week, the date and the months with inner subsidiary seconds, moon phase aperture, and the age on the border.

White enamel on the reverse with seven small subsidiary dials giving the time for New York, Paris, St. Petersburg, Calcutta, Melbourne, Vienna and Berlin. Blued steel spade hands. A rhodium-plated, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator.
