An extremely rare red gold Louis XV pocket watch with flat wheel cylinder escapement and hour on request, made circa 1780. The very fine à goutte version open faced Louis XV case of this watch is crafted from 18 Carat red gold, has a side hinge and the maker’s mark CFT. The extremely beautiful white enamel dial has a floral tendril with blossoms decoration in the edge area, Arabic 15 minute – and Roman hour numerals and  beautiful gold hands. The very fine, elaborately skeletonized and fire gilded movement has a flat wheel cylinder escapement and hour display on request by pressing the pendant similar to a Bras en L’air.
