A fine French 18 carat gold open faced ladies’ pendant watch made by Jean-Antoine Lépine in Paris, circa 1770. The Louis XVI case features a central applied varicolour
gold flower basket with a dog in the foreground within a green gold laurel leaf frame,
an engine turned ring separating the outer applied green gold floral decoration, the bezels with an applied gold repeated pattern. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, a winding aperture between 1 and 2 o’clock, and gold Louis XV hands. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, a verge escapement with
micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three arm balance, flat balance
spring, continental cock and silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
