Gold split second chronograph

A Swiss 14 carat yellow gold open faced keyless pocket watch, made by Agassiz Watch Co., in Saint-Imier, circa 1910. A polished, solid plain case is made by AW, probably American Watch Case Co., New York. This watch has three horological complications: Split seconds, activated by the rectangular push-piece located on the case band at 11 o’clock. 1/5 second chronograph, activated by the round push piece located on the crown. Half instantaneous 30 minute counter, subsidiary dial at 12 o’clock.

White enamel dial with suspended Breguet Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, minute counter at 12 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. A rhodium plated movement, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator with swanneck spring and micrometric screw, adjusted; chronograph work and split seconds work on the top plate. Signature on the dial and movement.
