A fine Swiss 18K pink gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless automaton pocket watch, circa 1890. Nickelled silver movement, wolf’s tooth winding mechanism, gold chatons, cut bimetallic compensation balance, two polished hammers repeating on two gongs. The dial with two applied polychrome enamel automata, enamelled guilloché central time indication with blue Roman hours, gold outer minute dots and subsidiary seconds. The case is engraved on both sides with a vacant cartouche. Cuvette signed.

Haas Neveux & Cie started out as B. Haas Jeune & Cie founded by Benjamin Haas, based in Geneva. The company had branches in New York, Paris, Cannes and Besançon and was listed as a ‘Manufacture’. In 1902, Haas Neveux & Cie won the first prize for precision in the competition of the prestigious ‘Observatoire de Genève’. In 1913, the company received Swiss patent No. 63652. In 1914, it won the prize for the best marine chronometer in, again, the prestigious Geneva Observatory competition, as well as several other prizes, including a record price for best regulation. In the same year, the company won a Grand Prix at the exhibition in Bern. In 1929, Haas Neveux & Cie became a member of the jury at the World Exhibition in Barcelona. 1939 was the last year the company was listed. In 1991, the company was re-founded, today this brand belongs to the SWC Company Ltd. in South Korea, previously Samsung Watch Co.
