A chronometer of finest quality with a chronograph, made by Le Roy & Fils in Paris, France, circa 1870. The numbered à goutte case of this watch, which was crafted from 18 carat gold, is engine turned with a monogram on the back lid and has a numbered cuvette inscribed with “HGER’S de la Marine, Palais Royal, 13 & 15 GalIE Montpensier, Paris, 211 Regent Street London”. The especially beautiful white enamel dial has a chronograph scale, red Arabic five minutes numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands.
The movement has a top quality anker chronometer escapement, gold wheels and a chronometer balance.
The cuvette is signed.
