Large pocket watch with enamel painting

A large gold and enamel verge watch, made by Léchet in Paris, France, circa 1795. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat gold, its face is set miniature Oriental pearls, it has an enamel painting, depicting a young lady at the altar of love, inscribed with “Offrande a l`amitié” (Offer of friendship) on the back, has an opening button in the pendant and is glazed on both sides. The white enamel dial has Arabic 15 minute numerals, Roman hour numerals and particularly beautiful hands set with diamonds. The numbered movement has a verge escapement.
The dial and movement are signed.
