An exquisite, fine quality large gold enamel verge watch with painting and pearls, made in France, circa 1795. The open faced case was crafted from 18 Carat gold,  has miniature pearls and an enamel painting on the back depicting a French revolution scene ‘The freed pigeon’. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with Arabic quarter numerals (outside) and hour numerals (inside) and rare heart shaped hands. The numbered movement has a verge escapement.
