Gold half hunter pocket watch by Le Roy & fils

French 18 carat rose gold half hunting cased lever pocket watch with chain, Circa 1875. Made for Prince Antoine D’Orléans (1824-1890), the youngest son of King Louis-Philippe.  The lever movement is signed: Le Roy & fils, horloger de la Marine, Palais-Royal, 13 & 15, Galie Montpensier, Paris. It has a white enamelled dial with Roman numeral hours, outer minutes track with Arabic five minute numerals in red, subsidiary dial for seconds, and gold double spade hands. The 18 carat gold case features a double bowl, decorated with the monogram A. O. (Antoine d’Orléans) in blue enamelled letters, and a blue Roman numeral chapter at the front. The chain, made of gold links in two colours, white and pink, is attached.
