A rare French 18 carat gold hunting cased lever chronograph watch used for the timing of early motorsport, circa 1915. 2/3 Plate movement, a piston tooth lever escapement and screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with black Arabic hours, inner red Arabic 24 hour numerals, outer Arabic five minute numerals, an outermost tachymeter scale, a minute register at 3 o’clock, subsidiary seconds at 9 and spade & whip hands. A plain case. Dial signed, case numbered.
