A French 18 carat yellow gold quarter repeating pocket watch with calendar made by Laborie in Paris, circa 1830. This watch features a hand wound keywind movement, signed Laborie à Paris on the barrel, with a cylinder escapement and quarter repeater on gong, activated by the pendant and a slide in the band. The dial has a white enamel chapter ring for the minutes, an hour circle with black painted Roman numerals, and enamelled surrounds on the subdials. It has a guilloché centre on the main dial and subsidiary counters, with indications for small seconds at 6 o’clock, date at 2 o’clock, and day of the week at 10 o’clock. The signature Laborie à Paris appears at the bottom of the dial. The engine turned bezel is 18 carat gold, and the case back is hinged, also in 18 carat gold and guilloché, with an inner dust cover on an 18 carat gold hinge, signed Laborie à Paris and numbered 920. Accompanied by an 18 carat and 9 carat gold winding key set with oval onyx.
