Gold open faced repeater by Breguet
–
A fine French 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating keyless gousset lever pocket watch, circa 1900. Attributed to the House of Breguet, its craftsmanship showcases an empierré movement from the House of Lecoultre. The movement features an anchor escapement, Breguet balance spring, and chimes the hours and quarter hours on a gong when activated by the targette repeating mechanism. Time setting is via a pushbutton between 11 and 12 o’clock. It features an enamel dial with Roman numerals, a chemin de fer minute track, small seconds at 6 o’clock, and rose gold coloured, pear shaped hands. The outer case is monogrammed BV and numbered inside, while the inner case bears the signature Breguet n°804 Rh lix on the outside and n° 49841 on the inside.
