Open faced watch with cylinder escapement

A French 18 carat gold quarter repeating open faced pocket watch, made by Vaucher Frères circa 1819/1838. The keywound mechanical movement strikes hours and quarters on demand and features a cylinder escapement. It has a Guilloché silver dial with engraved black enamel Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, and blued Breguet hands. The gold case is fully engine turned with radiating decoration. The inner case is 18 carat gold, signed and numbered.
