Pink gold open faced watch

An unsigned French 18 carat pink gold open faced quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1790. The case features a decorative band and houses a repeating mechanism that strikes the hours and quarter hours on a bell. The remarkably well preserved white enamel dial has Breguet hour numerals, outer dot minute divisions with five minute markers and Arabic quarter hours, it retains excellent clarity, though the copper, likely later, gilt hands.

The gilt full plate verge movement is complemented by a pierced and engraved balance cock and a silver regulation disc. The repeating function is activated by depressing the pendant button.
