A very fine French, 18K varicoloured gold, turquoise-set, granulation decorated watch with a matching turquoise-set gold key, circa 1830. Turquoise Star by Giteau, a Paris. Bassine with fixed back, decorated with graduated turquoises and graduated granulation forming a large rosette, a band with applied floral pattern, front bezel en suite with turquoises, applied flowers, and granulations. Gold dial, Roman numerals on matte background, centre with applied varicoloured gold rosette, the outer border with applied gold floral decoration. Blued steel Breguet hands. A hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation disc. Movement signed. Property of a Swiss Collector.
