Gold hunting cased chronometer watch

A fine French 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased (savonnette) pocket watch, made by Lip, dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. This watch has a high grade mechanical movement with lever escapement and a bi metallic screw balance. The white enamel dial features black Arabic numerals for the morning hours, an inner ring of red Arabic numerals (13–24) for the afternoon hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gilt pear shaped hands. The dial is signed Chronomètre Officiel Lip. The round 18 carat gold case has a hinged front cover and a fluted crown with a circular bow for pendant winding.
