A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, made by Vacheron Constantin in Geneva, circa 1925. This watch features a crown wind mechanical movement with a lever escapement, a spiral balance, and calibre RA 18’’184, signed by Vacheron Constantin on the plates. The white enamel dial is signed and displays stylised Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial, and spade hands. The round 18 carat yellow gold case features a hinged back decorated with a typical Art Deco motif. The gold cuvette is signed Vacheron & Constantin Genève and inscribed J. Fontan Bordeaux, suggesting this piece was retailed through or presented by the Bordeaux retailer J. Fontan. The case, cuvette, and movement are signed and numbered. Accompanied by an 18 carat yellow gold chain, gross weight 21.6 g, a service pouch, and a service quote dated 5 November 2016 from Vacheron Constantin.
