A French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch from the mid 19th century. It has a key wound mechanical movement with cylinder escapement and eight ruby holes. The white enamel dial features Roman numerals, a chemin de fer minute track with cracks and chips, and Breguet style hands. The round case is hinged, with a fluted caseband, guilloché back decorated with a foliate motif, and a gold bowl. Accompanied by two keys.
