A French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1875. It has a mechanical movement. The white enamel dial features a black painted minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, Roman numerals for the hours, pear shaped hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The round case has a double officer’s caseback, a barley grain guilloché caseback engraved with a monogram, and a fluted crown. The case is numbered and bears the French horsehead hallmark (1838–1919).
