Gold open faced lever watch with coat of arms
–
A fine French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch featuring the arms of the Counts de Souris, circa 1900. It has a mechanical manual wind movement with a lever escapement. The silvered dial shows black Breguet numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel spade hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case bearing a French Hibou warranty hallmark. It features a fluted winding crown, a sturdy round suspension bow, and a plain, polished reverse back cover, meticulously engraved with the noble coat of arms of the Counts de Souris, surmounted by a count’s coronet and flanked by two lion supporters. It is complete with a matching gold cuvette.
