Gold quarter repeating pocket watch attributed to Gervais Mallet, a Paris

A large Louis XV, 4-colour 20K gold French verge pocket watch with repeater in excellent condition, circa 1760.
20K gold case, 4-colour relief of outstanding quality and condition, Louis XV side hinge, the opening button set with diamonds, French 20K gold mark, Paris master’s mark. Louis XV enamel dial in very beautiful condition, Roman radial hours, outer minutes track with Arabic five minutes numerals, and fantastic original hands with diamonds. Signed and numbered spindle movement with repetition of the quarter hours a-toc.

The condition and quality of this watch is outstanding. It was probably hardly used. The enamel is only slightly damaged on the screw connection of the dial. The signature Mallez is perhaps a modification of Mallet, as we know it from Vauchez instead of Vaucher.
